Robert Bob L. Dietzler, 71, of Rochester, MN. died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home. A gathering and celebration of life will be from 3:00-6:00 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester. Robert Lee Dietzler was born on April 22, 1945, in Grand Forks, ND, to William and Shirley (Olsen) Dietzler. He attended school in Grand Forks, ND. On September 25, 1967, he married Nancy Saxton at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Rochester. Bob had a love for Chevrolet cars at a very young age. He worked at Clements Chevrolet in Rochester for a few years before starting his own business, Bobs Auto Body in 1971. In the late 80s, he also started Rochester Auto Sales. Bob enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR. He restored classic cars which was his passion. Bob enjoyed collecting old car memorabilia and collectible signs. He also enjoyed going to Barrett Jackson and Mecum Car Auctions often taking his own cars he restored himself. His family often joked that he restored cars for the rich and famous. Bobs cars can be found throughout the US. He was well known and very respected in the car world and had many followers. Bob had a great knowledge of classic cars. He was a simple and humble man. If there was a Chevrolet Heaven, he would definitely be there today. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy of Rochester; daughter, Lisa (John) Castellano of Rochester; grandsons, Matthew and Brady Castellano; siblings, David (Julie) Dietzler of Portland, OR, Tim (Becky) Dietzler of Elkader, IA, Susan Litzinger of Grand Forks, ND, and Kim Samuelson of OR.
