Robert Joseph Wood

Robert Joseph Wood, 67, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, July 3, 2014. Bob was born on July 25, 1946, and grew up on his familys farm in Plainview, Minnesota.After college at Mankato State University, he was employed at Wellhaven Music in Rochester, taught music in the Rochester Public Schools, and then worked various positions for Wonder Bread/Continental Baking in Rochester. Bob had a variety of interests and hobbies, including gardening, an enthusiasm that he shared with his wife Shari.She and he traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe during their 47 years of marriage.In addition to his fondness for reading, especially the daily newspaper, he enjoyed good movies, good friends, and what he said was a good life. Bob was happiest when he was in the company of his family.He is survived by his wife Shari (nee Sorensen); his two children: a daughter, Penny (William) Chappuis of Rochester, Minnesota, and a son, Ryan (Sarah) Wood of Chaska, Minnesota; three grandgirls: Hope Chappuis, Molly Wood, Lucy Wood; four brothers (Tom, Clint, Jon, Joel); three sisters (Donna Warthesen, Jean Haven, Jane Plude); and his father Marble.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his older brother Wayne, and his mother Genevieve.
