Robert Carl Jensen ,90, died at his home on Friday May 12, 2017. Bob was born December 28 1926 in Rochester. He was a lifelong resident, and considered Rochester the best place on Earth to live. Bob was a WWII veteran. He served his country with the 7th Cavalry in Bremerhaven, Germany, during the occupation. Bob worked for over 40 years for H H Electric. Bob remained active his entire life. As a younger man he loved fishing and hunting pheasant. He was a top ranked trap and skeet shooter, winning many trophies and awards. Into his 80s, he golfed everyday, weather permitting. He prided himself on carrying his clubs and walking the full course. Riding his bike on the trails of Rochester became his exercise of choice when golf became more work than fun. Music was another of Bobs passions, everything from Verdi to Hank Williams was playing in his home. Bob prided himself on always getting the best deal. He will be missed at Goodwill. He also enjoyed lunches with lifelong high school friends. Bob is survived by 2 daughters, Debra (Ken) Bickel of Duluth, Tamara (Lynn) Wilde of Chanhassen, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, brothers Richard and Donald Jensen and sister Mary Homyak. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care Bob received from Maureen, Mary, Dick and KC from Mayo Hospice and Kathy from Home Instead. Bob lived his life with humor and perseverance. He did things his way. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Mayo Clinic Hospice A celebration of Bobs life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester.
