Robert Hues Bigelow

Robert Hues Bigelow, 102, of Rochester, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Golden Living Center West. Bob was born November 26, 1912 in Haverhill Township, Rochester, MN to S. T. and Tena Bigelow. He was a graduate of Rochester High School. Bob married Lillian on June 16, 1937 in Zumbrota. Bob worked at Methodist Hospital as a maintenance engineer, retiring in 1977. He loved camping, fishing and traveling with his wife, Lillian. Bob was active in Boy Scouts, the Izaak Walton League and Christian Campers. Bob was a generous man and loved building and fixing things to help out others. He was a member of Autumn Ridge Church (First Baptist Church). Bob is survived by his children, Laurel Corey of Apple Valley, MN., Dave (Suzy) Bigelow of Fort Collins, CO; 5 grandchildren, Shawn (Heidi Chial) Corey, Robert (Jannica) Corey, Matthew (Allison) Bigelow, Timothy (Melissa) Bigelow, Juliet (John) Wivell and 9 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian; his parents and 6 brothers. Visitation will be held 12:00-1:00PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW., Rochester. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A private family interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
