Robert Harold Casto, 86, of Rochester, Minnesota formerly of Davenport Florida, joined his Savior on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Seasons Hospice, Rochester, MN surrounded by his loving family. His life began on May 2, 1928 in Dunbar, West Virginia, son of Orville and Myrtle Casto.Robert graduated from Dunbar High School and joined the Air Force in 1950.He married the love of his life Anna Dean Cavender on September 1, 1950, in Dunbar, West Virginia and together they had one daughter, Terri. Robert Bob worked for IBM for 35 years spending time in Rochester, MN, Terre Haute, IN, Evansville IN and Raleigh NC.Robert and Anna Dean retired in Davenport, FL 24 years ago. Robert enjoyed fixing anything that needed fixing.He was known as the man with all the tools and enjoyed helping people with their computers.He also played horseshoes and enjoyed the horseshoe club where they lived in Davenport.Robert was an accomplished singer and sang in quartets through his life.His love of gospel music was known to many.Robert and Anna Dean enjoyed spending their summers in Rochester with their beloved grandsons and family. Robert is survived by his daughter, Terri (Dan) Penz; grandsons, Todd (Autumn) Penz, Cory (Hilary) Penz, Jared (Kristen) Penz and Troy Penz; and four great grandchildren with one due in May all of Rochester;his sisters, Jean Barker of Wakefield, VA and Iola Nichols of Dunbar, WV; and many nieces and nephews.Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Dean; one brother and one sister. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with the Reverend Tony Deach officiating.Visitation will be from 10 a.m-11- a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Military Honors will be provided by the Rochester American Legion Post 92.Burial will take placeat 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
