Robert Emil Johnson

AUSTIN, MINN:Robert E. Johnson, 78, formerly of Rochester, MN died Friday, August 31, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Robert Emil Johnson was born April 15, 1934 to Frank E. and Gladys M. (Hyde) Johnson in Paxton, IL. Robert graduated from Mattoon High School, Mattoon, IL in 1952 and served in the Army from 1952-55. He married Shirley J. Storm on January 12, 1957 at Ash Grove Christian Church in Windsor, IL. Robert worked for IBM for twenty-four years and retired in 1990. He enjoyed wood working and computers. Robert is survived by his wife Shirley Johnson, Austin, MN; his children, Marcia (Charles) Meisch, Altura, MN, Robert A. (Edith) Johnson, Rochester, MN, Melanie (Rusty) Sorensen, Mazeppa, MN, Warren Johnson, Loveland, CO and Brenda Johnson, Yuma, AZ; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
