Robert E. Overton

Robert E. Overton, age 82, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901. The visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Mayo Clinic Hospice Program - Integrative Therapies. Robert Earl Overton was born on January 26, 1936, in Olmsted County, Rochester, to Frederick and Dorothy (Maul) Overton. On August 27, 1955, he married Shirley Ann Wilde. Robert retired after 36 years of service from the City of Rochester, as a Superintendent at Public Works Street and Alley Department. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; children, Debbie (Larry) Paulson, Dawn (David) Beach, Denise (Terry) Borgschatz and Dean (fiancée, Ethel) Overton; ten grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Thomas, Jennifer, Robert, Nicole, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Brianna and Taylor; 15 great-grandchildren; twin brother, Richard Overton, brother, David (Rose) Overton, and sister, Bonnie Stewart. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and six brothers. Arrangements are with Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
