Funeral services for Robert B. Milam, 88 of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-5pm on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church.Robert Brandon Milam was born on September 23, 1921 in Euharlee, GA to Henry and Romie (Leake) Milam. He died on April 6, 2010 at his residence.Robert graduated from high school in Cartersville, GA. and received a two-year degree from West Georgia State. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific and was awarded the Silver Star. After his discharge, he graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Hotel - Restaurant Management. On March 9, 1946 he married Anne Bell in Trion, GA and the couple moved to Rochester in 1948. Robert worked for the Kahler Corporation for many years serving as the secretary and treasurer and retired in 1976 as vice-president. Robert had served as past president of the Gamehaven Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Bear Creek Services and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club with perfect attendance for over 50 years and was a long-time member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the World War II Round Table, Geneological Society, and many other groups and organizations. He enjoyed playing bridge and playing with his grand kids. He also enjoyed gardening, especially herbs, and was co-owner of the Zumbro Herb Farm.Survivors include his 5 children, Bert (Kathy) Milam of Lewisville, TX, Patty Milam of Rochester, MN, Joe Milam of Winthrop, MN, Dan (Sue) Milam of Zumbro Falls, MN and Rich Milam of Plano, TX; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Milam of Cartersville, GA and a brother, Herman Milam of Chatsworth, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne in 1999, a sister and 3 brothers.
