Robert C. Pfeil, Born to Carl & Erna (Manteufel) Pfeil Sept. 11, 1927, went home to be with our Lord on Tues., July 17, 2012 at 2:00 am after a brief but complicated illness. Robert led a full life serving the Lord as an active member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont. He served on various boards, was a Lutheran Laymen's League officer, and after retirement served 15 years with Laborers for Christ Builders throughout the continental US, as well as supported children and grandchildren in various ministries from music to mission trips. Robert attended Madelia High School and served our country in the US Army.He started out his working career farming in the Madelia and Lewisville area.A few years after marrying Shirley in 1954 they moved to Lewisville where he drove the milk truck for the Lewisville Creamery.Fairmont became their home in 1957 when Robert took the opportunity to work for 35 years at 3M. Survived by wife Shirley and children Pat Shull (Randall) of Rochester, MN, Ruth Bloxham (Rick) of Des Moines, IA, Bernice Gilman (Brad) of Centennial, CO, Jeanne Phelon (Tim) of Eagan, MN, Richard Pfeil (Angie) of Hiawatha, IA, James Pfeil(Leslie) of Parker, CO, 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 N. North Ave, Fairmont, MN at 10:30 am, Monday, July 23, 2012.
