Richard Dick G. Brown, age 61, of Ostrander, Minnesota, died suddenly on Sunday, October 23, 2016, at his home. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester MN 55901. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception at the Douglas Saloon following the graveside service. Richard Glen Brown was born on February 22, 1955, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Charles and Ida (Johnson) Brown. He graduated from John Marshal High School. Dick moved to North Carolina to work for the highway state department as a heavy equipment operator. He later returned to Rochester. Dick worked for Rochester Meats for over 24 years, where he was still employed. He enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, taking road trips, deer hunting and listening to old time rock and roll. Dick also enjoyed attending auctions and garage sales, especially the 100 mile garage sale. He loved family events, bonfires, and picnics as he loved to eat. Dicks family remembers him as always working on something. He will be greatly missed. Dick is survived by his siblings, Cheryl (Jerry) Horning of Pine Island, Charles Brown of Ostrander, Phyllis Miller of Rochester, Nancy Tiabo of Rochester, Susan Brown of Ostrander; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ida; and brother, Donald Brown.
