Richard Donald Anderson

Richard D. Anderson, 90, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital. Richard Donald Anderson was born July 31, 1923 to Herbert and Sophia (Boie) Anderson in Rochester, MN. Richard attended Rochester Lutheran High School. He served in the Navy from1941-45. After serving his country, he returned to Rochester and worked as a plumber until his retirement in 1986. He married Thelma Finnesgard June 6, 1947 in Rochester. Richard was a current member of Union Local 6, Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, golf, and gardening. Richard is survived by his daughter Carol Seidel, Rochester, MN and his son Gary (Peggy) Anderson, Zumbrota, MN; five grandchildren, Weston (Crystal) Anderson, Jason (Carrie Phlipp) Anderson, Douglas Wheeler, Danny (Kris Morrow) Wheeler, and Kristin Wheeler; nine great grandchildren, Matt, Kyle, Blaine, Dalton, Nick, Tanner, Hannah, Gabe, and Mikayla; and a great great granddaughter Camrie. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Thelma, and a brother Harold. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
