Richard "Dick" H. Nordhus

Funeral services for Richard Dick Harold Nordhus, 82, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be from 5:00 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Richard was born on August 4, 1932 in Buchanan County, IA to Selmer and Adeline (Thies) Nordhus.He passed away on June 14, 2015 at Shorewood Senior Campus in Rochester. Richard attended Auburn, IA schools and entered the United States Airforce in 1953 and discharged in 1957.He married Judy Alexander in 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA and was later divorced.He was an airplane mechanic for Gopher Aviation and later worked in security for Mayo Clinic Rochester Campus, retiring in 1994.He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Wild Turkey Federation, Moose Lodge, Eagles, and American Legion.He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing BINGO. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon King and Pam (Kyle) Walters, both of Rochester, MN; three grandchildren, Boone (Ashley) King, Samantha King and Kaitlyn (Andy) King Crosby; two great grandsons, Jameson King and Noah Wilson and Theresa Everts and her family, Beth (Chris), River, Dakota, Lucille and Mabel Erdmann.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry and two nephews, J.R. And Greg. Memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
