ROCHESTER -Richard D. House, 85, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Richard was born in Wasioja, MN on September 2, 1927 to William and Frances (Perley) House. He graduated from High School.Richard was a transportation engineer for 31 years.He had over 3 million accident free miles.He worked 16 years for Minnesota Wisconsin Transport which then became Admiral Merchant Company.He also worked for Murphy Motor Freight for 13 years and retired in 1985.Richard married Marie Knight on August 1, 1959. Richard was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church since 1959.He was very active in church performing such duties as teaching Sunday and Vacation Bible School, working at the nursery, and driving the van.Richard loved photography and he had many pictures printed in the Rochester paper. Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie; two children, Kimberly Spaulding, of New Orleans, LA, and Keith (Debbie) House, of Rochester; one grandchild, James Richard Spaulding, of New Orleans, LA; and a sister, Iris Mae Kent, of Pine Island, MN. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Bill; and an infant son, Keilor Hamilton House. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Homestead United Methodist Church, 400 13th Ave SE with Rev. Becky Jo Messenbrink and Jane Day officiating.Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the church.Burial will take place at a later date at Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja.
