Richard David Kiester

ROCHESTER -Richard D. Kiester, 86, died on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at REM Bandel in Rochester. Richard was born in Rochester on October 17, 1926 to Theodore and Stella Kiester.Richard has resided at the Faribault State Hospital, REM Group Home, and Adult Foster Care.He was active in church activities, Park and Rec, and Ability Building Center.Richard enjoyed fishing, going out to eat and socialize and was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. Richard is survived by a brother, Marvin Kiester, of Michigan; and many friends and acquaintances. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Leslie. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home with Reverend Julie Beck officiating.Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Special Olympics or ARC.
