Richard Allen Hanson

Richard A. Hanson, 73, of Rochester, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at The Mayo Clinic, St. Marys campus. Dick was born July 22, 1948 in Rochester to Roy and Clara (Forland) Hanson. He was a 1966 graduate of John Marshall High School. Dick was a US Army veteran, proudly serving his country from 1968-1970 in Germany. He was the owner and operator of Hanson Concrete here in Rochester. In his spare time, Dick loved to work on and build street rods. He enjoyed going to numerous car shows and in his spare time he could be found working on his own cars or equipment that needed fixed. Dick was a hardworking and quiet man. He kept to himself and was content with his peaceful life. Dick is survived by his sister, Lorna Schunke and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Harold, Wayne and Rodney and by his parents, Roy and Clara. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 11, 2022 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Ave. SE, Rochester with Rev. Jason Burggraff officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church or to the charity of donor's choice. Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Hanson family.
