ROCHESTER -Raymond Ray A. Berg, 97, died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester. Ray was born in Rochester on November 6, 1915 to John and Mary (Bode) Berg.Ray married Verna Engelrup on October 2, 1940 in Rochester.They lived in Rochester all of their married life.He was a truck driver for Rochester Block until retiring in 1980.He enjoyed gardening with Verna and was a vendor at the Rochester Downtown Farmers Market for many years. Ray also enjoyedfishing, going on many cruises with Verna, and spending time with his grandchildren. Ray is survived by three sons, James (Mary) Berg, of Hugo, MN, Duane (Susan) Berg, of Rochester, and Richard (Judy) Berg, of Rochester; nine grandchildren, Kathy Jolly, Sue Palmer, Steve Berg, Jeff Berg, Todd Berg, Jana Mullenbach, Wendy Berg, Brian Berg, and Karen Berg; 11 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and a sister, Delores Irmscher, of Winona, MN. Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Verna; his parents; two brothers and six sisters; and an infant son. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home.Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial will take place at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth or Peace United Church of Christ.
