Raymond R. Saholt, 100, of Rochester, MN passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at Walker Methodist Highview Hills in Lakeville, MN. Raymond Russell Saholt was born May 6, 1916 to Ole John and Anna (Taylor) Saholt in Lamont, IA.After graduation from Rochester High School in 1935, he worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in the Quad Cities area.Raymond was in the United States Army from April 1942 October 1945.He married Marilyn Hagg on August 4, 1951 in Stoney Ridge, OH.The couple lived in Rochester where Raymond worked as a machinist at Sharf Auto Supply for 38 years.He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and was involved with the Boy Scouts.Raymond was an avid traveler.Family was always very important to him.Raymond will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and adored grandfather. Raymond is survived by his sons, Jeff (Susan) Saholt of Lakeville, MN and Doug (Roxane) of Mound, MN; five grandchildren, Melissa, Chloe, Gabriella, Jonathan and Anna.He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn; one infant son, Gregory and twin infant boys. There will be a Funeral Service on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Avenue SW).Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Monday.Immediately following the service there will be a burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
