HARMONY, MINN: Raymond Youngblood, 70, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011. Ray was born April 16, 1941 in Tulare, CA. to Dewey and Ruby (Holland) Youngblood. On June 6, 1998, Ray married Sharon Meier Leighton. Ray graduated from Franklin High School in Stockton, CA and went on to the US Marines Corps as a sniper for 10 years. He proudly served his country in multiple locations, including Vietnam. Ray was a member of the William T. McCoy American Legion Post in Rochester. He enjoyed the everyday tasks of working outside on the farm, taking care of his horses and being a long haul truck driver. Ray loved living life to the fullest by keeping busy and driving his 1989 corvette. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of Harmony; daughter, Amy Leighton of Byron; grandchildren, Halie and Parker Staloch of Byron; brothers, Jack (Patricia) Youngblood of Wagoner, OK and Gene (Sandy) Youngblood of Stockton, CA.; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; great-nieces and great-nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant brother, Jerry Lee Youngblood. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00pm Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Private family burial will be held at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault, MN. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Hospice 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
