Raymond Allen Grendahl beloved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa, passed away peacefully at Cottagewood Senior Community on November 14, 2023. He was born on May 30, 1938, Red Wing, Minnesota to Martin and Alma (Adler) Grendahl.
Raymond was a proud graduate of Pine Island High School. He valued education and always encouraged others to pursue knowledge and personal growth.
Raymond had a fulfilling career working as a supervisor for Telex Communications. He approached his work with dedication and professionalism throughout his tenure. Raymond proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1958.
In his leisure time, Raymond enjoyed wood carving and found great satisfaction in creating intricate pieces of art. He also had a passion for raising tropical fish and cherished spending time with his family and friends. His warm presence and genuine love brought joy to all those around him.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Grendahl nee Nichols, his sons Todd Grendahl and Terry (Lisa) Grendahl; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Robert, Richard and sister Marian.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 559 20th Street SW in Rochester, Minnesota. Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home located at 5421 Royal Place NW in Rochester, Minnesota. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Pine Island Cemetery located in Pine Island, Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Moments Hospice, or donor's choice.
