Ralph Paul Buske, 94, of Rochester, died peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester after a brief stay. Ralph was born April 22, 1921, in Rochester, to Walter and Adella (Prigge) Buske.He married LeNora Geise on April 28, 1942.Ralph was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his two daughters; Sharon (Jim) Glynn and Marcia Buske; two grandchildren, Jackie Glynn and Brad Glynn; and three great grandchildren, Jordan (Diana Orbelo) Glynn, Miranda Glynn and Brady Glynn.He is also survived by his brother, Harold (Barb) Buske, nephews and nieces.He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Matson. Ralph and LeNora met roller skating where he picked her up after a fall.They were married for over 73 years, surrounded by many wonderful friends, neighbors and family.Ralph enjoyed playing cards, walking the dog, taking fun bus trips in the region, and spending time with family and friends.Ralph was always asking when the next family gathering or party would be held! Ralph proudly served in WWII in the Army Air Force, and felt privileged to have participated in Honor Flight III, visiting the Washington DC memorial in 2009. After attending Dunwoody trade school, Ralph assumed his profession as a painter and wallpaper hanger.He took great pride in his work until retiring from St Marys Hospital in 1988.Ralph was a member of Union 681, where he served as financial secretary, before becoming a member of Union 2002. He was a lifelong, active member of Trinity Lutheran church, acting as an elder, participating in numerous clubs, attending weekly Bible Study, sharing his experience as a painter, and treasuring the fellowship of their community overall. Ralph and his family wish to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Thomas Poterucha, Janell Grazzini Frantz, and to the wonderful staff at Seasons Hospice, for providing such extraordinary care and compassion. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 1:00 pm, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Reverend Joel Haak officiating.Visitation will be held from 12:00pm 1:00pm, before the service.Burial, with military honors, will be at 3:30 pm at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, Seasons Hospice, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of choice.
