Rochester- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ralph J. Danielson, 82, at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the church. Memorials are requested to the Mayo Clinic for Lewy-Body Dementia Research.Ralph J. Danielson died on December 12, 2010 at Sunrise Cottages where he resided the last two weeks. Ralph was born June 25th 1928 in Caledonia, MN to Peter and Lillian (Traufler) Danielson. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, 1950-1952. After the service he went to Vocational School in Minneapolis for Barbering. Ralph married Mary Fitzgerald, February 15th 1958 in Elma, Iowa. From 1958 to 1995 he and his wife operated Ralph's Barber Shop and Scotch Dry Cleaners in the Silver Lake Shopping Center. After he closed the barber shop he continued to cut hair at his home until 2006.Ralph liked fishing, hunting, sports, camping and traveling. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the American Legion, VFW and Korean War Vets. He also was a past member of the Elks Lodge.Ralph is survived by his wife Mary; daughters, Deborah Pluth (Brian) and Carol Crofoot (Craig) of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Jeremy and Bridget Danielson, Brandon Crofoot and Amanda Van Wyhe; great grandchildren, Caitlynn and Dustin Danielson; and brothers, Norman Danielson of Owatonna, MN, Jerry Danielson (Betty) and Orville Danielson (Marlys), both of Caledonia, MN. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald.
