Funeral services for Phyllis L. Scott, 86, of Rochester will be at2 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Autumn Ridge Church with Reverend C. John Steer and Reverend James Barnhart co- officiating.Burial will be at Old Concord Cemetery just east of West Concord.Visitation will be from 5 - 8 pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also1 hour prior to the funeral at the church. Phyllis LaVonne Scott was born on July 16, 1928 in West Concord, Dodge County, to Ray and Eva (Hodge) Cady. She entered her heavenly rest on December 24, 2014, at assisted living memory care, ( Homestead at Rochester). Phyllis graduated from West Concord Schools and then on to Mn Normal Teachers College, obtaining an elementary teaching certificate.Phyllis married Victor L. Scotton August 3,1949, Phyllis was a teacher for many years teaching in school districts across southern Minnesota, fulfilling her passion of working with children. Phyllis also enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, baking, gardening, volunteering at Camp Victory, attending Autumn Ridge Church services and womens bible studies.Phyllis had an amazing gift of hospitality, opening her home to so many.She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Vic in their RV across the US and visiting many countries around the world. She was a long-standing member of Autumn Ridge Church.Her first love was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, husband (Victor), family and friends.Many non-profit ministries, churches, and individuals were blessed by her loving benevolence. Survivors include; 2 sons, Randy (Marlene) Scott of Stewartville and Ricky (Melissa) Scott, of Rochester; 1 daughter, Peggy (Allan) Mitchell of Bourbonnais, IL.; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her, husband (Victor), parents Ray and Eva Cady and (8) brothers and sisters..
