ROCHESTER, MINN: Phoebe May Fenske, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital. Phoebe was born December 31, 1924 in Rochester, MN to Arthur and Clara (Schoenfelder) Welke. She was a graduate of Rochester High School. Phoebe married George Fenske on February 17, 1944 in Rochester. She was co-owner and office manager at Fenske Sanitary Service for over 30 years. Phoebe was a member of Peace United Church of Christ and was active in the Miriam Circle. She enjoyed, knitting, reading, playing cards and loved animals. Her main love in life was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Phoebe is survived by her children, Jean (Robert) Bentson of Rochester, Charlene (Thomas) Case of Waseca, Larry (Joanne Monsen) Fenske of Rochester, Penny (James III) Ross of Rochester, Paula (Philip) Reilly of Eden Prairie, Rick (Sue) Fenske of Brooklyn Park; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and brother, Raymond (Nilva) Welke of Plainview. Phoebe was preceded in death by her loving husband, George; parents, Arthur and Clara Welke; brother, Carlton Welke and sister, Dorothy Bishop.
