Peter Lowe Ensign, age 64 of Rochester passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 in his home surrounded by family.Born July 3, 1949 in Richmond, VA to David & Margaret (Lowe) Ensign.He was a design engineer who spent much of his career designing fractional horsepower motors.He spent most of his career in North Haven, CT working for AirPax, Inc.He was a dedicated and devoted husband and father, who's life work was being a father.He was a member of Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church.He moved to Rochester in 2008 to be near Mayo Clinic where he participated in a lengthy Alzheimer's research study.November 28, 1970 in Durham, NC he married Bette Burke and she survives.Also surviving are ten children: Madeline Bravo-Pritchard of Reno, NV, Joy Ensign of Galena, IL, Noelle Burke (Neil) of Philadelphia, PA, Christopher Ensign (Sabrina) of Plainfield, IL, Holly Williamson of Spartanburg, SC, Ava Ensign of Chicago, IL, Annie Olah (Matthew) of Kensington, CA, Alexandra Ensign of Chicago, IL, Andrew Ensign (Zijun) of Minneapolis, MN, and Eric Ensign of Rochester, MN.15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and two brothers: John Ensign of Maui, Hawaii and Paul Ensign of San Francisco, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church with burial following at Oakwood Cemetery.Memorials appreciated to the church.
