Peggy Lou Betting

The memorial service for Peggy Betting, 53, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Aberdeen will be 11:00 am, Friday, August 22, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am Friday until the time of the service. Inurnment was at Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Aberdeen, S.D. Peggy passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 after battling cancer since 2012. Peggy Hoffman, daughter of Walter and Margie (Pfeifle) Hoffman was born on July 15, 1961 in Ashley, ND. She lived with her family and Walters parents on the family farm near Long Lake, SD until she was 5. The family then moved to Aberdeen where she attended school, graduating from high school in 1980. Peggy worked for Bonanza Sirloin Pit for six years. Peggy was united in marriage to Marc Betting on September 2, 1983 in Aberdeen. They had two daughters, Rebecca and Katie after moving to Williston, ND in 1984. There she started her 30 year career with IRET as a leasing agent then manager for Century Apartments. They moved to Rochester, MN in 2000 where she managed Sunset Trail then Quarry Ridge Apartments until her death. Grateful for having shared Peggys life are her husband Marc Betting and daughters Rebecca and Katie, Rochester, parents Walter and Margie Hoffman, Aberdeen, brother Mike Hoffman Aberdeen, sisters Susan (Craig) Levi, Colorado Springs, CO, Linda (Richard) Aman, Mayer, MN, Rita Hoffman, Aberdeen, and Janice Schnabel (aunt and god-mother) Ashley, ND, mother-in-Law, Toni Betting, Grand Forks, ND, brothers-in-law, Mike (Janet) Betting, Burnsville, MN, David (Lisa) Betting, Minot, ND, Daniel (Ellen) Betting, Columbia Station, OH, Paul (Lorraine) Betting, Ellendale, ND, sisters-in-law Monica Romsdal, Jamestown, ND, Cay (Joel) Durheim, Ellendale, Krysti (Lonnie) Mikkonen, Frederick, SD, Michele (Brian) Vance, Ellendale, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by seven babies by miscarriage, her paternal grandparents, Julius and Mary Hoffman, maternal grandparents, Oscar and Pauline Pfeifle, father-in-law Robert Betting and brother-in-law, Francis Romsdal.
