Paul Andersen

Paul R. Andersen, 67, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Paul was born July 7, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN to Herman and Helga (Lassen) Andersen. He was a 1969 graduate of Bloomington Kennedy High School and went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from The University of Minnesota. On December 29, 1973 in Minneapolis, Paul married Willette Svien. Paul worked for IBM for 31 years and did some contract work for a couple years before fully enjoying his retirement. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Paul loved woodworking and volunteered at John Marshall High School, helping in the woodworking class and math department. He also enjoyed astronomy, watching Jeopardy and collecting match books. Paul was a loving, soft spoken, respectful man. He had a humorous side and enjoyed telling jokes. Paul was very observant and enjoyed just taking life in as it happened. He is survived by his daughter, Melony (Jerome) Brown of Apple Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willette and by his parents. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1212 12th Ave. NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev.
