Patricia Ross-Seidel

Patricia (Pat) Ross-Seidel, 78, of Rochester, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Rochester Health Services West. Patricia Ann Johnson was born January 12, 1940, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Walter and Gladys (Brandt) Johnson. Pat grew up in St. Cloud, then attended nursing school in Minneapolis. She worked in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she started her nursing career before moving to Rochester. Pat started working in the neurology unit at St. Mary's Hospital, where she worked for 37 years, before retiring in 2002. Pat met Ervin "Bud" Seidel in 2000 and they were married in Chetek, Wisconsin in May 2007. Pat and Bud enjoyed traveling. They spent their summers at their cabin home in Chetek and winters at their condo in Florida, before making Rochester their permanent home. She was passionate about flowers, gardening and cooking and loved her dog, Ella. Pat had a close group of friends, they called themselves the "Chat and Chew" group. She is survived by her husband, Ervin "Bud" Seidel, of Rochester; one son, Randy Ross of Minneapolis; step children Jill (John) Humeston of Ankeny, IA; Lori (Scott) Russell; Kelly (Kent) Eide; Jeff (Jean Baker) Seidel; and Dawn (Craig Klein) Seidel, all of Rochester; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and sister, Valerie (Paul) Piechowski of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and son, Rick. There will be a visitation from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Private family service will be held prior to the visitation. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
