Patricia Powell

Patricia Patty L. Powell, age 85, of Rochester, MN died on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Cottagewood Senior Communities. Patty was born on June 6, 1929, in Washington, PA, to David and Margaret (King) Thomas. She graduated from High School in Akron, OH. On October 8, 1951, she married Rodney Spike Powell, they had five children together and they later divorced.Patty was 13 years old when she began her lifelong passion of photography and worked for the Mayo Clinic and for various studios around the Rochester area. She enjoyed her pets, bowling, and was an old time movie buff. After Patty's retirement, she worked at Fisherman's Inn on Lake Zumbro and also installed wallpaper as an interior decorator. She was mostly known for taking care of her family and the love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her children, Gary Powell of Burnsville, Clark Powell of Chatfield, Rod (Chatie) Powell of Rochester, Lee Mini (Cindy) Powell and Peggy (Jim) Geyer; grandchildren, Chad (Rachel) Korrie (Paul), Tyson (Amber), Marshall, Alex, Jacob, and Emily; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Landon, Payton, Dylan, Oliver, Stella and Lillie. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, 5421 Royal Place N.W., 55901.The visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Booker Mini Foundation. Patty participated in the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Study.www.ranfranzandvinefh.com
