Patricia J. Bess

Patricia J. Bess, 85, of Rochester, MN passed away May 9, 2017 at St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing, MN. Patricia was born September 26, 1931 in Princeton, MN to Vernon and Nellie Webb. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1949. After graduation, she babysat for the Minneapolis Millers. Patricia also worked at their hotel, which is where she found her love of baseball. Patricia also lived at the Clara Dorne Club for girls until she met and married her husband Max Bess in September of 1951. They later divorced in 1978. After retiring from Erdmans Grocery Store she located to Voyager Village in Wisconsin. Her last years were spent at St. Crispins of Red Wing, MN. Patricias hobbies include reading, playing cards and crafting. Patricia especially enjoyed and loved feeding and watching birds and deer, Christmas time, birch trees, and watching the MN Twins and Vikings. Patricia is survived by her four daughters, Vicki Lynn (Charles) Moehnke; Terri Alane (Mark) Graham, Cindy Lee (Mark) Sorensen and Jody Ellen (Timothy) Schwartz; one sister, Shirley Ann Canfield and one brother, Morris Lee (Marlene) Webb. She is preceded in death by her father, Vernon George Webb; mother, Nellie Genevieve Mark Webb Johnson; Robert (Mike) Vernon Webb and her partner, Bill McNelis. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with Pastor Matt Fennell officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the charity of your choice. A birch tree will be planted at St. Crispins in memory of Patricia.
