Patricia D. Weeks, age 93 of Rochester, MN died Friday, March 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Patricia was born May 30, 1924 to Edward and Antoinette (Yochem) Dressler in Huntington, Indiana. The family later moved to Youngstown, Ohio and after that to Hornell, New York. After graduating from Hornell High School she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Education degree from Elmira College in New York State. She taught High School English and History there. After her marriage to Dr. Richard E. Weeks in 1948 she moved to Chicago and taught English in LaGrange, Illinois. She spent a year in Tokyo, Japan where her husband was in service at the Tokyo Army Hospital. After returning to the United States, they moved to Rochester, Minnesota where he joined the staff of the Mayo Clinic. She had a strong interest in art history, architecture and antiques. She was fortunate to take many classes and museum trips to China, Japan and most of Western Europe. She was the secretary and then the president of the Alice Mayo Society and on many community boards including the Rochester Art Center. In 1983 she founded the Rochester Friends of Minneapolis Institute of Arts which is still an active organization in Rochester. She also enjoyed music, theater, ballet, reading, needlework and bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ann (in infancy), her twin brother Patrick and her daughter Katherine. She and her husband had four children, Katherine Middlecamp, Richard E. Weeks, Jr (Thanh), Susan Martino (David), and David Weeks (Cynthia). She has five grandchildren, Jocelyn (Dr. Jeffery Chuy), Megan (Jason Sambolt), John Corrigan, Emily Weeks, Nicholas (Alexandra), and one step grandchild Anh. She has three great grandchildren, Theo Weeks, Owen Sambolt and Isla Chuy. A private family service will be held in the Spring.
