Patricia Blanchard

Patricia A. Blanchard, 80, of Rochester, MN passed away October 30, 2024. Pat, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on August 26, 1944, and grew up in Goodhue, MN. She was raised there by her parents, Cy and Bessie Benda. She completed grade school and started high school in Goodhue before transferring to Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy in Mankato, Minnesota, where she completed her high school and college education, earning her bachelor's degree and a teaching certificate. She served as an elementary school teacher for several years, working in both Hampton, Minnesota and in Rochester. Pat married Roger Blanchard on June 12, 1993. They enjoyed biking, traveling, and gardening. They lived together in Rochester until Roger passed on January 6, 2018. Pat was also preceded in death by her parents, Cy and Bessie Benda, and her sister Mary (Strauss). She is survived by her sisters Peg (Busby) and Cathy (Ryan) and her brothers Joe, Jim and Charlie. She will be remembered with a Celebration of Life on Monday November 4 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. The service begins at 11 and will be followed by lunch. She will be interred with her husband, Roger, in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorials preferred to Seasons Hospice, Elder Network of Rochester, and NAMI Southeast Minnesota.
