Palmer G. Johnson, 87 of Oronoco, MN died Monday, December 7, 2015 at his residence. Palmer Glen Johnson was born on April 29, 1928 to Lancey and Cora (Hanson) Johnson in Lemond Township, Steele County, MN.Palmer grew up on the family farm and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1946.Palmer married Jane Meinzer at the Little Brown Church in Nahua, IA on July 19, 1962.Palmer worked for Rochester Dairy, owned and operated the Bluebird Inn in Douglas, drove courtesy van for Holiday Inn of Rochester and owned his own lawn care business.He loved music and played the accordion.Palmer also enjoyed restoring things and attending auctions and flea markets. Palmer is survived by his wife, Jane; four sons, David (Londa) of Hayfield, MN, Eric (Beverly) of Hayfield, MN, Jeffrey (Brenda) of Andover, MN and Willis (Dalynna) of Eagan, MN; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Harlan of Fairmont, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel; grandson, Adam; brother, Leo; and his first wife, Betty. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church (810 3rd Avenue SW) with the Reverend Anjanette Bandel officiating.Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Burial will take place at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, MN.To share a special memory please visit www.ranfranzandvinefh.com The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice.
