In loving memory of Opiew Obang Olagi
Born in Gambella, Ethiopia February 2, 2001, son of Obang Omot and Abejedo Gilo.
After the massacre in Ethiopia fled to Pochalla, South Sudan and to Nairobi, Kenya at the age of 4 in September 2005. Grew up in Daddab Refugee Camp in Kenya. Living there for around 12 years.
March 2017 the family relocated to a Camp Kalobyi Settlement Refugee Camp for 7 months.
Moved to Rochester, MN on October 24, 2017. He was sixteen years old.
Graduated last year from Century High School and played soccer. Friend to everyone and all kinds of people. Lots of friends and connections. He was active here with the Anywaa Church, helping care for children.
Rest in peace to our dearest son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.
