ROCHESTER: Norris LeMoyne Soll, 86, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at his home. He was born September 15, 1925 in Cottonwood County to William and Alma (Kleven) Soll. Norris was a veteran and proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean War with the US Army Air Force from 1944 to 1951, ending his career as a Sergeant in the US Air Force. He was awarded with the Army Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. After the service he returned to the Walnut Grove/ Westbrook area and started his career in mechanics. On September 6, 1958, he married Agnes Haeg in Richfield, MN. Norris and Agnes started their family in Westbrook then in 1964 moved to Rochester, MN. Norris worked for Molde Trucking for most of his life as a fleet maintenance mechanic. He then went on to work for Southern MN Auto Parts and then Scharf Auto as a parts delivery driver until retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking care of his yard and gardening along with cutting wood. His main love in life was spending time and making memories with his family. Norris is survived by his loving wife, Agnes; children, Gregory Soll of Rochester, Renee (Steve) Grossell of Winona, Jeffrey Soll of Rochester, Shelley (Jeff) Kruse of Rochester, Julie (Charles) Pearson of Eyota, Vicky (John) Kroll of Kasson; grandchildren, Stacy, Stephanie, Tristan, Chad, Justin, Leah, Katelyn, Cain, Jacob, Logan, Blake, Samantha; great-grandson, Willy; sister, LaVonne Hanson and brother, LaVerne Butch Soll. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma; brothers, Oran and Fritz Soll and sister, Alice Sell. Visitation will be held 2:00-5:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, where a prayer will be said at 4:30 PM.
