Norah "Nell" (Myrberg) Cook, 88, passed away on January 13, 2019, at Season's Hospice in Rochester, MN. Nell was born November 21, 1930, in rural Stromsburg, NE, to Abner I. and Norah V. (Nelson) Myrberg. She graduated from Stromsburg High School. Nell attended Mounds Midway School of Nursing in Saint Paul, MN and the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Il. Her nursing career began in Minneapolis, MN at the Sister Kenny Institute where she cared for patients during the polio epidemic. She then worked at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN where she worked in patient care and nursing administration. She concluded her career by working in home health care. Nell married Marshall Cook on August 12, 1961. She was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Plainview American Legion Auxiliary Unit #179 and the Plainview Public Library Book Club. She was a volunteer with Seasons Hospice. Nell is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Mike) Iverson and grandsons, Ryan (Nicole) and Tyler all of Rochester, MN. Nell was preceded in death by her husband; son; parents and sister. The memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place, NW, Rochester MN, 55901. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery in Plainview, MN. Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice.
