Nicholas Arthur Braun

Nicholas Arthur Braun, 95, of York, South Carolina, formerly of Rochester, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Nicholas was born on November 13, 1925 in Rochester, to Alois and Elizabeth (Weiler) Braun. Nicholas grew up on the family farm on Rt 4, in Rochester. Nicholas proudly served his country as part of the United States Army from 1944-1946, with tours of duty in Manheim, Germany, and the Philippines. On June 19, 1960, he married Marianne Mayo at "The Little Brown Church " in Nashua, Iowa. He worked at the Mayo Clinic as a Urology technician for 38 years. Nicholas enjoyed trout fishing and fly fishing in his spare time. He is survived by his daughter Dianne (Robert) Mueller, of York, SC, and son Jeffrey (Deb) Braun. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne; parents, five sisters, and two brothers. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June , 2021 from 5:0-7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Paws and Claws.
