Nevin Lee Radke, age 53 of West Concord, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2017 after a courageous 19-month battle with brain cancer. Nevin was born Monday July 29th, 1963 at St Marys hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Nevin spent his early years living in Rochester and moved to rural Pine Island with his family in 1976. After graduating from Zumbrota High School in 1981 he attended Dakota County Vocational School where he received a degree, with honors, in car restoration. Nevins former places of employment include Mid Am of Zumbrota, Custom Iron of Zumbrota and various auto body shops in Rochester. He started his own business, Custom Colors Restoration, in 1988 which he owned and operated until his illness. Nevin loved people and was an epic story teller. He loved the outdoors. He spent much of his free time hunting, fishing, and trapping. His hobbies also included snowmobiling, motorcycling, attending car races and car shows. His favorite pastime was going to auctions where he loved getting a bargain. He attended innumerable auctions in his lifetime and made many friendships there. You could find him in the yard playing Annie Annie Over with his nieces and nephew. Competitive croquet was the Sunday afternoon activity of choice. If he wasnt there you could more often find him in a garage with his dad and/or brothers working on a car. Nevin enjoyed getting in his car and traveling the back roads. Nevin is survived by his parents Robert and Joann (Dahl) Radke of Pine Island, younger brothers Timothy (Teresa) Radke of Kenyon, Joel (Kacey) Radke of Mantorville, and William (Angela) Radke of Dodge Center; two nieces, Katie and Magen, and one nephew, Zachary; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his baby brother Nicholas; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. A funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, February 28th at the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester with a lunch and burial to follow. A visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, February 27th also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
