ROCHESTER:Nancy Irene Glorvigen, 55, of Rochester, MN died Friday, November 1, 2013 at her home. Nancy Motter was born December 30, 1957 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Kent and Sarah (Richards) Motter.Nancy graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1976 and from Itasca Community College in 1978 and was a member of the Optometric Association.She was married to Gene Glorvigen on June 30, 1979 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.In January of 1989, they moved to Rochester, MN where they were owners of Recreation Lanes. Nancy was diagnosed with Leukemia three years ago, and had fought hard to beat it ever since.She was an inspiration to all who knew her because of her positive attitude and love for life, no matter what she was going through.Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she cherished the relationships she built throughout the community.She touched the lives of everyone she knew. When she took time for herself, she had a passion for gardening and lived for sunshine filled days where she could tend to her flowers and plants.She also enjoyed spending time baking, canning, cooking, fishing, traveling, and coaching youth bowling.We were blessed to have her in our lives. Nancy is survived by her husband, Gene; daughter, Emily Glorvigen of Chicago, IL. and son, Erin (Stephanie) Glorvigen of Rochester, MN; her sister, Carol (Dennis) Ferguson of MacClenny, FL; and four brothers, Richard (Joy) Motter of Hibbing, MN., Thomas (Kimberly Haber) Motter of Seal Beach, CA, Daniel (Ruth) Motter of Pengilly, MN and Roger (Lorene) Motter of Grand Rapids, MN.She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service will be he held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 7th,2013 at Ranfranzand Vine Funeral Homes.A night of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are appreciated to Caring Bridge or Mayo Hospice.
