Nadine Ann Aakre of Rochester, MN, passed peacefully on March 18, 2025. Nadine was born on September 30, 1941, in Owatonna, Minn. to Arthur and Margaret Boeke. Nadine grew up on a farm near Claremont, Minn. She graduated from Claremont High School in 1959. In high school, Nadine enjoyed having some of the leading roles in class plays. Nadine also enjoyed competing in speech and receiving a superior rating at a region speech contest. "Boooks" was the nickname given to her by her classmates. Always into books!

After graduation she went to work at the First National Bank in Rochester, MN. During this time, she met Robert Aakre and later was united in marriage at the Presbyterian Church in Claremont, MN, 1960. They made their home in Rochester, MN. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family gatherings and enjoyed conversation in-between. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School. She also enjoyed square dancing and going to Treasure Island Casino. Nadine liked playing solitaire and when she won, she would raise her hand expecting a high five and of course, Robert would give it to her. She stayed up-to-date regularly watching local and world news as that was important to her. Nadine had a great sense of humor, liked having fun and was willing to give inspiration to whomever she thought needed it.
