Myra Ann Beck, 88 passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015. She was surrounded by her husband of 64 years and 3 children as her Lord took her home. Myra lived a full and generous life. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Myron and Vivian Brown. She married her husband, Everett W. Beck on August 25, 1950. She traveled with Everett as he served in the armed forces in the early years of their marriage. After Everett left the armed forces they moved to Endicott, New York. Work bought Myra and Everett to Byron, Minnesota in 1958 where they raised their three kids. Myra loved her children supporting them in every way possible. She was a Girl Scout leader, a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and a Sunday school teacher. She was her kids' biggest fan, never missing a concert or sporting event. The kids always knew she would be there. Her commitment to her family continued with her grandchildren. She welcomed and tenderly held her three great grand children. Myra worked at St. Mary's Hospital for many years. In retirement Myra and her husband enjoyed many wonderful trips together traveling around the US, Canada, The British Isles, Greece, Egypt, Israel, Panama, the Amazon, the Caribbean Islands and a numerous other places. They made many friends along the way. Family and friends were Myra's greatest passion. Even as dementia crept in during her last years, she never forgot her family and friends. Myra is survived by her husband, Everett, and three children Barb, Dan, and Philip; her daughters-in law Lorraine (Dan) and Cindy (Phil); her son-in-law Steve (Barb); her seven grandchildren Jennifer (Barb and Steve), Sarah, Cassie, and David (Dan and Lorraine) Kelsey, Marissa, and Jaci (Phil and Cindy); and three great grandchildren Noah and Piper (Jennifer and Eric Williamson's children and Tegan (Cassie and John Obarski's daughter). Myra was preceded in death by her parents Myron and Vivian Brown, stepmother Elizabeth Brown, and four brothers Charles, William, Robert, and Wallace Brown. A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, March 20, 2015 at Byron United Methodist Church, 507 1st Ave. NW., Byron. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the church. The Rev. Beth Perez will be officiating with inurnment at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers consider a donation in Myra's name to the Byron United Methodist Church.
