A memorial service for Milton F. Schumann, 87, of Rochester, MN will be at 11:00am on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester with the Rev. Mike Wuehler officiating.Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Milton Frederick Schumann was born on April 27, 1926 in Eyota, MN to Frederick and Christina (Pries) Schumann.He died on May 12, 2013 at the Samaritan Bethany Home on 8th. Milton graduated from Eyota High School.He married Rosella Green on June 18, 1949 in Racine, MN and the couple made their home in Rochester. Milton worked for Olmsted Federal Savings and Loan and took correspondence courses to receive his degree in accounting.He went to work for John Yeager Sr. and later formed a partnership, Yeager and Schumann which eventually became the firm of Schumann, Granahan, Hesse and Wilson, LTD. When Milton retired, the firm asked him to come back and work on a part-time basis.He enjoyed golfing and boating.He had his own houseboat Gypsy Rose on the Mississippi River in Wabasha.He was a member of the Coast Guard Flotilla 10-4 and Elks BPOE.He served on several boards including Home Federal Savings Bank and was a partner in ROTAB Corporation. Survivors include his wife, Rosella of Rochester, MN; his daughter, Debra Schumann (Rick Dahl) of Rochester, MN and his son, Kim Schumann (Mary Hoffman) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, Alfred (Margaret) Schumann of Eyota, MN and two sisters, Maxine Kahler of St. Charles, MN and Eileen Traeger of Mankato, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Helen Woodward and one brother, Adolph. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Heart Association.
