PINE ISLAND Milton F. Bond, 82, died on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his home surrounded by family. Milton Frederick Bond was born in Peru, Indiana December 8, 1930 to Lyman and Laura (Culp) Bond.He was an educated man who worked hard at everything he did. He was a patriotic man who served in the US Army during the Korean War.He was a family man who treasured his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren- he was a devoted, faithful brother, husband, father, grandfather, boppa, and great grandfather. He was a man of God, a long time member of Bethany United Methodist church in Rochester, MN.He was a friend of all those who knew him.He died at home surrounded by his children all of whom helped care for him in the last weeks of his life. He is survived by his brother, Jerry, of Fishers, Indiana; his wife, Donna; children, Doug (Stacy) of Grants, NM, Mike (Ann) of Luverne, MN, Laura (Kevin McCrea) of Mazeppa, MN, Karen Hanson of Byron, MN, Steve Bemel of Zumbrota, MN and Michelle (Cinque Davis) of St. Louis, MO; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew, 3 grand nephews, and one grand niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Nadine, and his brother Lyman.Milts life example of a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ lives on in the hearts of his entire family. Memorial Services will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1835 19th Ave NW on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev Dr. Wesley Gabel officiating.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and an hour prior to the service at the church.In celebration of Milts life and his love for potlucks, sandwiches will be provided following the service.The family encourages you to bring a favorite dish to share. Absolutely no flowers or perfumes are desired at the church or the funeral home due to severe sensitivities and health reasons.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Heifer International, Bethany Church or Seasons Hospice.
