Michelle Wood-Jensen

Michelle R. Wood-Jensen, age 56, of Mesa, AZ formerly of Rochester, MN, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Michelle Renee Wood was born on December 22, 1962, in Downy, CA, to Robert F. and Darlene E. (Palmer) Wood. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1980. She continued her education at Winona State University and earned a master's degree in business administration. On December 22, 1984, her 22nd birthday, she married Danny Jensen at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester. Michelle worked at the Mayo Clinic for 34 years in Research Finance. They moved to Mesa, AZ in 2014 where she continued her work at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ. Michelle had a wonderful sense of humor but also a serious side. She enjoyed going for rides and traveling. She was strong and courageous in her battle with breast cancer. Michelle will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Michelle is survived by her husband, Danny Jensen of Mesa, AZ; mother, Darlene Wood of Rochester, MN; brothers, Mark (Becky) Wood of Phoenix, AZ, Michael (Lori) Wood of Phoenix, AZ; nieces and nephews, Jennifer and George Kunz and their children, Lucas and Taylor, Angela and Brent Call and their daughter, Tenley, Nicholas Wood, and Anna Wood; parents-in-law, Jerry and Ione Jensen of Hurdle, WI; sister-in-law, Brenda (Dave) Radel and their children, Jeremy and Tara; brother-in-law, Jay (Jean) Jensen and their children Erin and Andrea. Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Robert Wood. A memorial service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester MN 55901. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lupus Foundation or Susan G. Komen for Breast Cancer Research.
