Michael Thiem

Michael Wayne Thiem, 61, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2017 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN. Michael was born March 27, 1956 in Rochester to Marvin and Darlene (Pries) Thiem. After graduating high school, Michael went on to work as a carpenter. He had a passion for music and played bass guitar in the band, Streetwise, for a number of years. He was an avid reader, especially science fiction and enjoyed the internet gaming community. Michael had a great sense of humor, was gentle, mellow and kind hearted. He always had a positive attitude and was the best big brother. Michael is survived by his sister, Barbara Thiem of Rochester and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Darlene. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Calvary Episcopal Church 111 3rd Avenue SW Rochester, MN 55902
