Michael Charles Frain Sr., 67, of Rochester passed away March 6, 2016 from a short and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born Feb. 1, 1949 in Rochester, New York and later moved to Florida where he met his wife Clare with whom he was married for 44 years. They have four children, Stacey (Kelly), Michael JR (JoEllen), Elizabeth (Michael) and Meghan (Jeremy). One of his greatest joys was his 9 grandchildren, Michael III, Jack, Lizzie, Lily, Eva, Leo, Cullen, Gabby and Logan. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Cullen Frain. Mike spent his career at I.B.M., where he worked for 42 years and touched the lives of many. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mike loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan. He loved a good game of catch and had a spare glove and ball for anyone willing to play. He didnt know a stranger and up until the very end he continued to show others the importance of compassion and paying it forward. He was a volunteer at Samaritan Bethany for 10 years. The viewing will be at Ranfranz & Vine Wednesday, March 9 from 5-8 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Church on Thursday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Salvation Army of Rochester, MN.
