Melissa Nygaard

NYGAARD Melissa Marie Nygaard, 39, of Rochester, MN passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at The Mayo Clinic, St. Marys campus. Melissa was born December 31, 1978 in Rochester to Cynthia Nygaard. She was a 1997 graduate of John Marshall High School, where she was active in the flag corp and concert choir. Melissa worked for Rochester Taxi as a driver and dispatcher and she also worked for Hiawatha Homes. She loved to read, animals, going fishing and country music. Melissa enjoyed watching the Minnesota Wild and Vikings. She was a caring and compassionate woman. Melissa is survived by her mother and stepfather, Cindy (Jeffery) Beech step-sisters, Julie (Chris) Cordes and Jennifer (Pete) Lieske; aunt, Jodi (Dave) Danielson; maternal grandmother, Elie Nygaard and her fiancé, Lance Krenske. Melissa was preceded in death by her brother, Michael and maternal grandfather, Wayne Nygaard. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
