Maximillian (Max) Richard Pfeifer, age 24, of Edmond, OK died in Oklahoma City, OK on May 7, 2024 while driving the three wheeled roadster he loved. Max was born May 21, 1999 in Rochester, MN to Drs. Margaret “Peggy” Long and Eric Pfeifer.
He graduated from Mayo High school in Rochester in 2017. Max attended Bemidji State University where he joined Theta Tau Epsilon fraternity and met his future wife, Kaitlyn. They subsequently moved to his hometown of Rochester where they worked for several years before moving to Oklahoma in 2020 for the opportunities of a larger city. Max’s passion for cars led him to Francis Tuttle Technology Center where he graduated as the top student from the Automotive Service Technology Program. While working at Bob Moore Audi he progressed through the Audi Master Technician Program with extraordinary results.
Max and Kaitlyn were married on May 4, 2024. As a huge Star Wars fan due to the influence of his parents and his Uncle Rich, no other date would do.
Tragically Brice Kukuzke from Rochester, MN, who became a close friend after Max returned from Bemidji, was also lost in the accident.
Always a social person, Max spent as much time as possible with friends, ideally having fun. He made friends easily often befriending those younger and older than himself and from other schools in addition to his own. Growing up he played soccer for many years. His experiences at Quarry Hill Nature Center began with observation of Helen at Nature Tot classes, to his own classes, years of the Fall Festival and day camps. YMCA Camp Pepin in Wisconsin provided opportunities to find more friends over several years including a year as a counselor. Hobbies growing up included archery, Legos, target shooting, knife throwing, and ice skating. He was a keen video game player. While living in Oklahoma he maintained a successful TikTok channel with humor and assembly of a Shelby Cobra replica. During his Audi training weeks away he organized his fellow students for exploration of the current city.
From an early age, Max would lay down to sleep when he was tired regardless of where he was (kitchen floor) or what was going on. His favorite childhood pet, Zeppel often joined him. This pattern continued – adult Max would head for bed if tired.
He is survived by his wife and parents in addition to sisters Helen and Mary Pfeifer; fur babies Mama, Muffin and Frank and ”nephews” Asche and Julius; uncles and aunts Rich Long (Monique VanderMarck), Ruth Windham (Steve), and Stephanie Neff (Scott) in addition to other family and many friends. Max was preceded in death by his grandparents Laura and C. Richard Long and Wilma and Gerhard Pfeifer.
