ROCHESTER, MN: Matthew Phillip Isaacs, 29, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital. Matthew was born January 6, 1984 in Binghamton, NY to Phillip and Rebeccah (Hansen) Isaacs. He was a 2002 graduate of Century High School and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2006. Matthew was employed as a Process Engineer with Rochester Medical Corporation and attended Christ Community Church.On September 11, 2010 at The Plummer House in Rochester, Matthew married Becca Sharpley and continued to love and cherish her with his whole heart.Matthew loved technology; fixing or designing things to work better. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, canoeing and taking his trips to the Boundary Waters. He also enjoyed music and played the string bass and electric bass. Matthew was known for his dry and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor, being a problem solver, always keeping his promises and being generous with his time for his friends and family. Matthew is survived by his wife, Becca of Rochester; parents, Phillip and Becky Isaacs of Rochester; sisters, Stephanie (Chad) Fisher of St. Charles, Angela Vartanian of Rochester; niece, Caitlynn Vartanian of Rochester; paternal grandfather, Earl Isaacs of Mankato; maternal grandparents, David and Ruth Hansen of Cedar Rapids, IA; mother-in-law, Theresa Randall of Lake City; father-in-law, Gary Sharpley of Menomonie, WI and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Shirley Isaacs and by his uncle, Paul Isaacs. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Calvary Evangelical Free Church 5500 25th Ave. NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church.Rev.
