Mary H. Manahan, 66,passed away at Banner Del Webb Medical Center in Surprise, AZ of respiratory failure on June 12, 2016. Mary Helen Thorsen was born July 1, 1949 to Ernest Clayt and Ivaline (Marcellus) Thorsen.She graduated from Rochester John Marshall High School in 1967. Mary was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Ken Manahan on October 5, 1968 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester.Mary began working at NW Bell while in high school.She retired after 36 years at the age of 53.She then worked for the Rochester Public Schools until age 62. Mary was a 30 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and a life member of Century Link pioneers.Mary always enjoyed bowling and golfing, she also enjoyed Bingo and card games with her friends, visits to Las Vegas and spending time with her grandchildren.Mary made friends easily and once you were a friend, you were a friend forever.She will be missed by many. Mary is survived by her husband, Ken of Surprise, AZ; one son, Kevin (Angie) and two grandchildren, Lillie and Joseph of Rochester, MN.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Thorsen. There will be a Visitation from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with a Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. The Reverend Charles Ortloff of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church officiating the service.
