Mary Louise Brown, age 79 of Rochester left this world behind on January 19, 2014 hopefully to dwell in the house of the Lord.She fought a battle with A.L.S. For seven years, but the A.L.S. defeated her. She was born on August 23, 1934 to Lawrence & Sidona (Trahan) Lamprise in Lake Charles, LA where she grew up and lived until she met the love of her life, Clarence Knute Brown, whom she marrried August 16, 1952.Soon after they relocated to Oronoco where they lived and raised their family.Mary worked as a baker for various restaurants and bakeries throughout the area.Mary loved to cook, bake, do crafts, collected cook books, and was an active member of the Rochester Senior Citizens and Senior Center where she enjoyed various activities, but especially the quilting club she was involved with at the Center.She leaves behind her beloved husband, Clarence Knute Brown of Rochester, her children: Linda Knudsen (Scott) of Mantorville, Patti Wallace of Eyota, Mike Brown (Lori) of Douglas, Joe Brown of Rochester, and Scott Brown of Red Wing.9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Her four siblings: Priscilla Murray (Mike), Clarence Riley (Lucy), Richard Riley (Sandy), and C.J. Riley all of Lake Charles, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, a granddaughter, and 2 brothers.Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 24, 2014 at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home, with burial following in the Oronoco Cemetery.Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday and one hour prior to services both at the funeral home.Memorials appreciated to either the A.L.S. Society or Rochester Senior Center.The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses and staff of the A.L.S. Clinic for all of their kindness and help over the years.
